“Very, very impressed”: Mark Warburton makes bold claim concerning QPR star

|

Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Warburton believes that Eberechi Eze has the ability to play for any side in the Premier League.

The attacking midfielder has enjoyed a fantastic season for the R’s, scoring 12 goals and registering eight assists, making him one of the most productive players in the league. As you would expect, such form hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Crystal Palace believed to have shown an interest in the player in the past.

As well as that, Spurs are said to be admirers of the England U21 international, with reports suggesting they could pay up to £20m to land Eze.

And, whilst Warburton feels he will be able to keep the 21-year-old at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, he indicated to Sky Sports that he can understand the hype, by claiming he could feature for the elite in the top-flight.

He’s a young guy I knew about going into the job but I’ve been very, very impressed. He’s responded really well this year and maintained a great level of consistency, home and away. I honestly believe he is a top six Premier League player all day long.”

Is £20m fair for Eze?

No money is enough

We need more

That's a fair amount

No club will pay that

Given the situation football is currently in, it remains to be seen how the transfer market will play out but that level of interest in Eze means the Londoners may need to win promotion to keep hold of their star man. But, that’s not completely out of the question right now, with Warburton’s men just six points away from the play-off places.

Plus, they had built some real momentum before the enforced break, going on a six game unbeaten run. It’s still not clear when the Football League will resume, with the EFL confirming over the weekend that they want to continue playing but they stressed public safety will obviously be the priority.
