Joey Barton has revealed that his time at Queens Park Rangers was ‘by far the most insane’ he has experienced during the game due to off the field issues.
The midfielder had a mixed time for the R’s, with low points such as his dismissal against Manchester City but he also starred as they won promotion to the Premier League after that memorable play-off final win against Derby County back in 2014.
Therefore, he has a lot of stories to tell and he opened up on his time with the Hoops to the Football CFB podcast recently. And, taking to Twitter, the current Fleetwood Town boss showed his appreciation for the support he had at QPR and made reference to that win at Wembley.
By far the most insane (off the field) club I ever played for.
Great, loyal supporters who have had it tough for a long time.
Never forget Wembley and the R’s fans turning out in full force to make the difference. @Amit_Bhatia99 always a steady hand within the chaos. https://t.co/DTYrXeCfXO

It’s fair to say his comments on the podcast and on social media prompted a lot of responses from fans of the Londoners and here we look at what some had to say…
Really good listen that, So many bad eggs at QPR, but Mark Hughes was the main one. Completely ruined everything.

I enjoyed your time at club, gave alot at times when some where giving none and only a handful of bad performances which every pro has (apart from Clint hill)

Can never knock your effort on the pitch certainly and integral part of the play off winning squad . You got a bit of stick but gave everything . Thanks @Joey7Barton pic.twitter.com/edRXnXfObr

Crazy days but a great ride. Thanks to both

Very interesting as a qpr fan,I always thought Joey demanded to be captain when he arrived, rather than warnock took the captaincy off Taarabt. Probably the biggest mistake warnock made was to lose Taarabt which he seemed to at that moment #qpr

JB was instrumental in getting rid of Taarabt, siting that he was rude to the laundry lady. In the same breath saying that he was only24 & has matured since
