Queens Park Rangers slipped to their first defeat of the season at the hands of Wycombe Wanderers.

The Chairboys pulled off an excellent win at Bisham Abbey despite a great deal of pressure from the visitors QPR.

Wycombe opened the scoring inside ten minutes when Northern Ireland under 19 international Matt McClure dispatched an early effort.

Rangers pressed hard but couldn’t find their killer instinct as the Chairboys doubled their lead when Dean Wallace made sure of the points late on.

Steve Gallen’s R’s are now two points off leaders Colchester United following the defeat, but can turn their attention to the cup once more on Saturday.

Gallen’s side host Brentford in the Youth Alliance Cup, a team they beat 3-1 in mid-October courtesy of a brace from wonderkid Raheem Sterling and a solitary strike from winger Elliott Cox.
