Tommy Williams believes that he can provide Rangers with a different option at full back in a bid for promotion.
Speaking to QPR.co.uk the R`s loanee indicated that while he is a defender first and foremost, there are more strings to his bow.
“In the modern game the full backs have got to have energy and stamina and it`s an important position now,” Williams said.
“I do like to get forward and obviously pick and choose the right times to do that, but obviously when you do do that it can have a devastating effect on the opposition.
“That`s the way I play and I`m looking forward to fitting in.”
Tommy`s philosophy will sit well with Rangers` playing style as they continue to impress supporters and pundits alike.
With Gary Borrowdale recently sidelined with a stomach bug, it highlighted the need for another specialist left-back and Williams is hoping to fill that void if and when called upon.
The defender who was recently handed the number 20 is recovering from an ankle injury and had his first taste of training in nearly a week today.
Williams` latter of the two loan spells with the club culminated in promotion, he will be hoping to continue that fortune stating that the sky is the limit for Magilton`s Rangers.
