Tommy Doherty today had his Queens Park Rangers contract terminated by mutual consent, as the flurry of transfers in and out of the club continue.

The Northern Ireland international had been out of favour under previous regimes, and had enjoyed a successful loan spell with League Two side Wycombe Wanderers, who have always been keen admirers of the Doc’s talents.

With Tommy being released at 10:00am today, this made him a free agent and he signed for Wycombe on the stroke of midday, penned a two and half year contract with the Chairboys.

A delighted Wycombe boss said…

‘It’s brilliant to finally get the signing done and dusted. Tommy is a very talented player, and I’m sure the fans are pleased to have him here permanently.’

Paul Lambert finished off by adding…

‘We will need all the bodies we can get for the remainder of the season and I think we have built up a very strong squad.’

With string recent impressive performances, most notably coming against Brentford, the Chairboys will no doubt be delighted with their capture.

The player voted by Wycombe as their player of the season 06/07, furthermore found himself in the League Two team of the year.
