The deals done today so far in the Coca Cola Championship including another exit from Newcastle United.

Simon Walton – Plymouth Argyle to Crewe Alexandra – Loan

The former Queens Park Rangers midfielder signed for Plymouth last season, but to say he hasn`t got off to a good start at Home Park would be an understatement.

He signed for a club record fee and hasn`t impressed boss Paul Sturrock since. He was rumoured to be signing for Crewe on loan last season, but it fell through after he rejected the move to Cheshire.

Walton fought his way back into contention under Sturrock but following a sending off, the Scotsman transfer listed him and he joined Blackpool on loan until the end of the season.

He had a trial with Scunthorpe United at the start of the season but with Nigel Adkins non-committal on a deal, he eventually signed for Crewe Alexandra today.

Kristian O’Leary – Swansea City to Leyton Orient – Loan

Swansea City’s longest serving player, Kristian O`Leary has penned a short-term loan deal with Leyton Orient in a bid to get match-fitness under his belt.

He is yet to feature under new boss Paulo Sousa prompting him to look elsewhere for first team football.

The Port Talbot born midfielder has made 281 appearances for the Swans scoring ten goals since signing professional in 1995. He has had a short spell away from the club in 2006 with Cheltenham Town.

Jos Van Nieuwstadt – Doncaster Rovers – Mutual Consent

Dutch defender Jos Van Nieuwstadt had has his contract terminated by mutual consent at the Keepmoat Stadium following limited first team opportunity with Rovers.

He joined last season following promotion to the Championship from Excelsior in Holland, but only 17 appearances last season with a solitary goal has prompted him to look elsewhere this campaign.

The 29-year-old`s progress has been stifled so far this season by the fact he had a hernia operation in the summer and he will now look for a new club.

Xisco – Newcastle United to Racing Santander – Loan

Francisco Jiménez Tejada aka Xisco has put a temporary end to his disappointing stay at St James Park by penning a season long loan deal with Spanish outfit Racing Santander.

The 23-year-old has failed to impress in an injury plagued spell on Tyneside as Newcastle United slumped out of the Premier League.

He has played a small part in fixtures against Reading and Sheffield Wednesday thus far this season but has failed to hold down a regular place with the Magpies.

Nicholas Bignall – Reading to Stockport County – Loan

Nicholas Bignall has joined the Hatters on loan until January in a bid to gain first team football in light of the addition of Grzegorz Rasiak to the Royals.

Bignall impressed in the Carling Cup victory over Burton Albion, bagging a brace in a 5-1 victory but Brendan Rodgers has sent him out for his third loan spell since joining the club – also spending time with Northampton Town and Cheltenham Town.

He will go straight into the side that face Crewe Alexandra in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.
