Ticket prices update – good news!

A few weeks ago, QPR boldly announced that they were streamlining their matchday ticket prices into three categories and, as a result, a three-tiered matchday pricing structure was being introduced. Based on which category a match was given would determine the level of price to be paid. The highest price ticket (depending on the area of the ground the seat was in) was substantially higher than the season ticket price announced in earlier in the summer.

There were outpourings of anger from Rs fans and fans` groups, and even opposition fans weighed in with a variety of comments, many of them very unjust and unnecessary. Rs fans were angry enough for both home and away supporters!

Derby County stood their ground and when the Board of QPR turned to the Football League for assistance, the League actually backed Derby. Commonsense from the League!! The result was a reduction in the matchday ticket prices for Rams` fans to the level originally announced back in May.

Today, the Board have announced that all matchday ticket prices for the remainder of the season at Loftus Road will be Category C.

The Board have acknowledged the concerns of our supporters in this current economic climate. I take this to mean that, thankfully, they have listened to the complaints of various QPR fans` groups and, probably, those expressed in emails and letters of complaint. I should state that the latter is speculation on my part but is based on the outpourings on various fans` websites over the past few weeks!

To confirm, this statement means that adult ticket prices will be a maximum of £35.00 for the Platinum Section, £30.00 for the Gold Section, £25.00 for the Silver Section and £20.00 for the Bronze Section for all home games this season. Good!

I, for one, am delighted that commonsense has prevailed and would like to salute the Board and thank them for taking into consideration the reaction of the supporters. Now, whilst we`re complaining and you are listening, please could we have another defender and striker perhaps?!!!
