On Monday afternoon, Queens Park Rangers confirmed that Luke Freeman had penned a new deal at Loftus Road, keeping him with us until the summer of 2021.
With huge interest in the 26-year-old attacking midfielder in the summer transfer window and reported bids from Middlesbrough that were rejected, as owner Tony Fernandes stood true to his promise that the former Bristol City man would not be sold, this should at least go some way to temper the rumours surrounding the January transfer window as we should now be in a slightly stronger position.

Having made the switch from Ashton Gate back in the 2017 New Year, Freeman now boasts 83 appearances and ten goals and he is an important player for the club and continues to be so under manager Steve McClaren, and he’s more than played his part in helping us to turn our form around and rise up the Championship table.
Speaking to the Official Site as his new deal was announced, he explained.
“I’m really pleased. I’m happy here – I get on really well with all the boys, all the staff. This feels like home for me. I love the club, the fans, and I want to help us progress even more now.”
He was also full of praise for McClaren’s impact at the club, describing him as being ‘massive’ in his decision to recommit and calling him ‘one of the best managers I’ve played under.’
Huge news, getting out most valuable players signed up is better than any signing. Get in pic.twitter.com/mqWN9b77r9
