With a very youthful Queens Park Rangers side under manager Steve McClaren this season, one of our first moves to try and balance that up was the arrival of defender Angel Rangel.
Still beyond me how we didn’t take the 3 points in a game where we were superior in every department. It shows we are heading in the right direction, solid team performance that was!
Special mention to the R’s, different class, loud and proud! ????????????⚪️ pic.twitter.com/2kBjp4Q0ug— Àngel Rangel (@arangelz) September 3, 2018
The former Swansea City fullback was available as a free agent and with our early season struggles, we signed him on a short-term contract until January. Making his debut against Bristol City in a 3-0 defeat, he now has three appearances to his name and played his part in helping us to take all three points from Wigan Athletic and a scoreless draw against Birmingham City.
With Bolton Wanderers up next when the international break ends, we’ll be looking to continue our three-game unbeaten run and fans feel that Rangel has a massive part to play for the rest of the season given the impact he’s already had in the first-team and they feel the club should already reward him with a new deal.
You really impressed me Rangel , I think you deserve a contract extension . I'm beginning to like you . #coyr #qpr

With experience and numbers being an issue, it’s a no-brainer for me and he’s been winning fans over with his attitude since game one so I doubt anyone would disagree with an extension now until next summer and then we can reassess things.
