Oh baby it’s cold outside! It’s brass monkeys here on the Hampshire Riviera, god only knows what it must be like further north.

As far as the betting goes today, it’s probably best to stick to games that are unlikely to be affected by the weather. I’ve been keeping a close eye on postponements, and I believe there’s more heavy snow forecast for a lot of areas. I’m therefore going for all Premiership games which should still be played.

* Aston Villa at home to Stoke at 4/9.
* Spurs away at Blackburn at 6/5.
* Man Utd away at Fulham at 4/7.

A £5 treble would pay just under £25, not bad for a couple of bankers and one risky one. Don’t forget to check the games are on before placing any bets.

For anyone venturing out in this weather if it doesn’t snow in W12, you may want to consider starting your journey early enough to get in front of a pub fire and watch Pompey v Liverpool at 12.45.

I’m tempted by the odds on a Pompey win, 9/2 is excellent value at Fratton Park in the cold against a very inconsistent team.

Anyway good luck to you all, try and keep warm, and may you have a very merry Christmas, ho ho ho!
