The Stat Attack – Blackpool

Vital QPR`s Lenny367 returns with all the stats ahead of the R`s trip to Blackpool tomorrow night.

QPR made their first journey to Bloomfield Road back on the 23rd March 1968 in what was the “old” second division and came away happy after recording a 1-0 win.

Since then there have only been 8 league fixtures between the two clubs at what would appear to be a very good ground for the R`s with us winning 3 drawing 3 and losing 2.

At home this season Blackpool are not having such a happy time winning only 3 of their 13 matches. In fact in the last 7 home games they have only picked up 6 points out of a possible 21the only win in the those games coming against bottom side Charlton.

Meanwhile the R`s have only lost one away trip since Paulo Sousa took up the reins, in the 1-0 away defeat at Sheffield Wednesday where a missed penalty cost us dear.

On the goals front the games a 1-0 away win or 1-1 draw occur the most. This season the R`s seem to be scoring most of their goals either in the 2nd or last 15 minutes of the game, whereas the goals conceded are spread equally over all the game with no particular half or time being seeing us more likely to let one in.

Blackpool tend to come on stronger in the 2nd half of games and have scored most of their goals in the first 15 or last 15 minutes of the second half, although they have also let in more than they score in the second period, getting progressively worse has the game draws to a close.

Therefore on stats alone expect to see a pretty quiet first half followed by Blackpool piling on the pressure in the second leaving themselves vulnerable to some swift counter attacks by the R`s.

Lenny`s Prediction: Away win.
