Mr Davies now resides on the Select Group 2 list having spent four years among the National Group – The official has already overseen two games this season, with wildly different fortunes. He was also the man in the middle for the reverse fixture between QPR and Wednesday in February last season.

He has dished out 129 yellows in 35 games this season so far – an average of 3.69 cards per game – he has also issued four red cards this campaign.

Against the Owls he will be assisted by Dan Cook (Hampshire) and Robert Hyde (Essex) with Dean Treleaven (West Sussex) the fourth official.

Cook assisted Davies in the 6-0 home thrashing by Newcastle United while also running the line in the League Cup win over Swindon Town. More recently he assisted in Rangers last win over Rotherham United (5-1).

Hyde assisted in three 2-1 home wins for QPR against Norwich City, Wigan and Barnsley while Treleaven will be involved in his first Rangers game of the campaign.
