James Linington from the Isle of Wight will be the man in the middle as Queens Park Rangers host Nottingham Forest

Competition: Football League Championship
Teams: Queens Park Rangers v Nottingham Forest
Date: Saturday 29th April 2017

Assistant: Daniel Robathan (Bedfordshire)
Assistant: Rob Merchant (Staffordshire)
Fourth Official: Robert Whitton (Essex)

Select List 2 official James Linington takes charge of the fixture between Queens Park Rangers and Nottingham Forest, one that could prove pivotal for both teams.

Mr Linington has overseen a couple of Rangers game already this season – the victory over Cardiff City away from home where QPR briefly went top of the Championship, oh how we laughed. The other was a slender win over Wigan Athletic.

He will be assisted by Daniel Robathan (Bedfordshire) and Rob Merchant (Staffordshire) with Robert Whitton (Essex) the afternoon’s fourth official.

Mr Robathan assisted in a win over Norwich City (2-1) and home defeats to Derby County (0-1), Burton Albion (1-2) and Brighton & Hove Albion (1-2). This is however Mr Merchant’s first game as an assistant in a QPR fixture this season, Mr Whitton likewise. Although the latter has his own piece of fame, blowing up for full time at the same time as Whitehawk scored an FA Cup First Round wonder-goal.

Mr Linington has handed out 140 yellow cards in 33 games gives him an inflated average of 4.24 cards per game – Accompany that with four red cards and this is an official that has eyes on the top.
