The Men in Black – Newcastle United v QPR

TIM Robinson from West Sussex gets the honour of the final game of the Championship season as Queens Park Rangers travel to Norwich City

Teams: Norwich City v Queens Park Rangers
Competition: Football League Championship
Date: Sunday 7th May, 2017

Assistant: Matt McGrath (East Yorkshire)
Assistant: Nigel Lugg (Surrey)
Fourth Official: Gavin Ward (Surrey)

Mr Robinson brings down the curtain with his fourth QPR game of the season- his fifth overall. We certainly have had our fair share of an official who has this season established himself in Select Group 2, and has not been afraid to dish out a card or two.

Thus far this season he has dished out 185 yellow cards in 43 matches – giving him a stunning average of 4.30 cards per game – he has also handed out nine reds this term and booked ten players in one game.

In this end of season bonanza he will be assisted by Matt McGrath (East Yorkshire) and Nigel Lugg (Surrey) with the lesser seen Gavin Ward (Surrey) the fourth official for proceedings in today’s early kick off.

Mr Lugg has run the line in two Rangers games this season a home defeat by Derby County (0-1), but then also a win over Barnsley (2-1). Mr McGrath is yet to assist in a Rangers game this season, while Mr Ward was fourth official in Rangers 0-3 defeat at Ipswich – Ian Holloway’s follow-up game to his opening win over Norwich.
