It’s another Brenford v QPR fixture for referee James Adcock who took charge of the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign.

From a refereeing family, James’ father, David was also an official but never reached the heights of Friday’s official. James made the National List in 2011. The newly formed Select List 2 awaited for Mr Adcock and he has refereed predominantly in the Championship this term.

He did not officiate any games between January and April this campaign, meaning he has only taken charge of a modest 26 games.

He will be assisted by Adam Matthews (Gloucestershire) and Darren Blunden (Kent) with fellow referee Tim Robinson (West Sussex) on fourth official duties.

Mr Matthews has run the line in three QPR games this season – in a victory over Cardiff City (2-0) and a draw at Burton Albion (1-1) as well as the aforementioned Brentford defeat (0-2). Mr Blunden meanwhile has been assistant in fixtures against Reading (1-1), Wolves (1-2) and Rotherham United (5-1). He also ran the line in fixtures against Sunderland (1-2) in the EFL Cup, a victory over Ipswich Town (2-1) and defeat at Huddersfield Town (1-2).

Fourth official Robinson has taken charge of three QPR games this season – the aforementioned Wolves defeat, and away draws at Newcastle United (2-2) and Leeds United (0-0). He was fourth official in the reverse fixture earlier this season as well as an away defeat at Brighton (0-3) and a home win over Cardiff City (2-1).

Thus far this season Mr Adcock has dished out 83 yellow cards in 26 games – giving him an average of 3.19 cards per game, issuing two reds this campaign.
