Rangers will face a new referee as they travel to the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

Simon Hooper from Wiltshire will take charge of his first QPR fixture this weekend, in this third season refereeing in the Football League.

Hooper joined the National List of referees in 2008 and while overseeing predominantly lower league games, he did oversee Norwich demolish Barnsley at Carrow Road (4-0).

Last season he was granted eight more Championship clashes, but this Tuesday’s fixture against Swansea City will mark his first this campaign.

Thus far this campaign he has taken charge of five games dishing out 11 yellows and a solitary red – giving Mr Hooper an average of 2.4 cards per game.

On Tuesday he will be joined by Mr Andy Henley (West Midlands) and Andy Newell (Lancashire), with the fourth official Mr Simon Knapp (South Gloucestershire).
