Danny Maguire recently swapped the bright lights of W12 for Yeovil and is excited about his loan deal in League One.

Maguire signed for the Glovers yesterday (Wednesday) on loan until the end of the season, as he swaps a fleeting battle for a place in the Premier League to a relegation dog fight to avoid the drop into League Two.

The 19-year-old midfielder told the Somerset County Gazette that while he is going to Huish Park a boy, he wants to return to Loftus Road a man.

‘It is going to be brilliant for me,’ said Maguire

‘I’m still a boy really, but coming here could turn me into a man.’

The midfielder has aroused the interests of London rivals Crystal Palace in recent times and looked destined for a move across London after impressing in a reserve fixture against Millwall.

However the Eagles` loss is Yeovil`s gain as Maguire looks forward to be playing regular first team football for the League One strugglers.

He said: ‘It is going to be a learning curve for me.

‘I’ve been playing in the reserves at QPR, but there is nothing better than playing in front of a crowd at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. I want to play football and enjoy it.”

Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of West London, Maguire is settling in to his new surroundings in somewhat different circumstances.

The side from south Somerset currently occupy fourth bottom in League One, two points from Northampton Town who sit above them on the periphery of the drop zone.
