Queens Park Rangers confirmed the sad news this morning that former player Michael Robinson had passed away at the age of 61.
The forward enjoyed a successful career, featuring for the likes of Manchester City, Brighton and Liverpool, before leaving the latter to make the move to west London. During his time in the capital, Robinson made 58 appearances in the Hoops and enjoyed some memorable days.
Undoubtedly, his finest moment in an R’s shirt came at Stamford Bridge, as he scored a magnificent effort from the halfway line to ensure rivals Chelsea were beaten in a League Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bright.
Robinson would head to Spain and join Osasuna after just two years with QPR but he is still fondly remembered for what he did for the club and that goal is always talked about by the fans. So, there were was a lot of sadness among the support after his passing and here we look as they paid tribute to Robinson on Twitter…
