Paul Taylor from Hertfordshire will take charge of the R`s Boxing Day clash with Charlton Athletic.
Mr. Taylor who joined the referee`s list in 1997/98, has refereed the R`s 9 times in the past 11 years of his refereeing career.
The first was back in October 1997 as Rangers were demolished 4-2 at home by Charlton Athletic, where all Rangers could muster was a Mike Sheron brace. Later that season in February 1998, Mr Taylor witnesses 4 more goals at Loftus Road as Rangers drew 2-2 with Sheffield United.
Mr. Taylor was back at Loftus Road a year later presiding over Rangers fixture in December 1999, where in a 0-0 draw Chris Kiwomya was given his marching orders in the 76th minute. In the subsequent season however Mr. Taylor saw the better side of Kiwomya with the striker scoring a late goal away at Gillingham to secure a priceless victory for the R`s.
In their first season back in Division 2, the R`s played Blackpool at home in March 2002, with Richard Langley hitting a stunning strike in the loft end. It was Blackpool again for Mr. Taylor on the first game of the season in August 2003, as Rangers took their opponents apart in a 5-0 thrashing, with Richard Wellens getting himself sent off in the latter stages for persistent fouling.
The final game in which Mr. Taylor has taken charge of the R`s was back in October 2004, when Matthew Rose settled a London derby against West Ham at Loftus Road, the then left-back was composed infront of goal to hand the R`s a win that won a lot of bragging rights.
Mr Taylor also oversaw the R`s final fixture of the 2007/08 season, as they fell at home to Champions West Bromwich Albion. A stunning free kick from Chris Brunt sealed the fixture, as the Baggies fans clad in fancy dress could celebrate their Premier League status.
So far this campaign Mr Taylor has taken charge of 15 games handing out 57 yellow cards and five reds, giving him a card average of 4.2 – the highest we`ve had this season so far.
