Tuesday afternoon saw the news that all Queens Park Rangers fans had wanted this summer, young and talented striker Ebere Eze had put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at Loftus Road.

Fans had long been calling for the 20-year-old to be rewarded for his development with a new deal, if only to strengthen our own position if the vultures circled as we got closer to deadline day, and he has now signed a two-year extension to his existing terms, keeping him with us until the summer of 2021.

Having been handed the Number 10 shirt by manager Steve McClaren this season, the youngster was delighted to contract up for longer and he told the Official Site that he was simply happy to get the deal done and out of the way now so he can focus on the football.

“I am delighted to have it all sorted so I can focus completely on playing football. It’s a great feeling to know you have the trust of your manager, the fans and your team-mates. Everyone believes in me and it’s a real confidence boost. This is the best place for me at this moment in time. I know that I can be free to play how I like to play. If I keep my head down I have got a good opportunity to play here and that’s the main thing.”

Reacting to the news on social media when it broke, fans couldn’t have been more delighted.
