Adel Taarabt has penned a new contract at Queens Park Rangers

It has been easy in recent weeks to look at potential deals coming into W12 as opposed to the talent already within the current squad.

Taarabt was formerly the key figure in Rangers arsenal, putting Championship defences to the sword and coming back from the Premier League with some expectation.

After taking a considerable period of time to settle into top flight football, Taarabt quickly became an integral figure in Rangers battle for safety.

Taarabt penned a three-year extension to his current deal – tying him to the club until 2016. For a player that has been linked to moves elsewhere this summer, this is another coup for QPR to keep the highly-rated Moroccan.

Taarabt has also taken the number ten shirt from Jay Bothroyd and joins an illustrious list to have pulled on the jersey.
