Former QPR loanee Adel Taarabt has indicated that Queens Park Rangers are interested in signing him as believes that his days at Tottenham could be numbered.

Only a few weeks ago the young Moroccan was lighting up Loftus Road with a dizzying array of trickery and skill, for the time being however he props up the treatment table at White Hart Lane with a cartilage tear.

Today (Tuesday) Adel revealed to Moroccan fans website mountakhab.net that he may not be a Tottenham Hotspur player for long with QPR a possible avenue open to the promising young forward.

He said: “Queens Park Rangers made an offer to Tottenham, they want to buy me but there are no negotiations at the moment.

“My agent has a meeting with Tottenham`s team officials in a week and I think that whatever happens that I`ll leave there at the end of this season.

“In any case, they won`t be able to give me what I want so a departure is inevitable.”

The midfielder signed from French outfit Lens in 2007 following a successful loan spell in North London. Limited first team opportunities prompted him to be loaned out to Queens Park Rangers, where he made seven appearances scoring a solitary goal.

His influence waned towards the end of his brief spell in W12, while some sections of support were delighted with his undoubted talent, at times it appeared he was playing for himself in a hope to secure regular first team football at Tottenham.

A young forward with an abundance of talent that has yet to be realised, should Tottenham wish to release Adel, there will be no shortage of interest with clubs in France, Spain and Germany already alerted to this latest development.
