Adel Taarabt has signalled his intention to move from Tottenham Hotspur, and make his dream move to closer to home.

The loan forward has been in sparkling form this season while on loan at Queens Park Rangers and has confounded his critics on numerous occasions.

The young Moroccan has signalled his intention to stay in West London for the time being, ahead of what he cites as a ‘perfect move’ to France or Italy.

Taarabt told the Ealing Gazette that he wants to leave Tottenham despite being offered a new deal, and is happy to remain at QPR for the moment.

‘I want to have a good season here and then afterwards head off to a Spanish or Italian club,’ he said.

‘It would be nearer to Morocco and Marseilles, where I grew up, and that would be perfect for me.

‘Right now, things are going very well. I am very pleased and I hope it continues, and that I can have a good season. I’m pleased to be here to show what I’m capable of.

‘Tottenham would like me to sign a new deal with them but, frankly, I don’t fancy going back there now. I’ve got two and a half years left with them, but I hope to leave soon.’

Adel has scored four goals for Rangers this season including a wonder-strike against Preston North End that should become a candidate for goal of the season.

He spoke of a great understanding with former Spurs colleague Wayne Routledge in the build up to the Sheffield Wednesday clash this weekend.

Taarabt stated that Rangers would be looking for a ‘big result’ when they head to Hillsborough this weekend, looking for their first win since their glorious promotion in 2004.
