Whoscored crunched their normal algorithms for Queens Park Rangers’ horrendous defeat to West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.

Heading to The Hawthorns and seeing the scores tied a 1-1 at the halftime break, QPR completely capitulated in the second 45 minutes to come out with a 7-1 scoreline to mark our worst start to a season and if anyone didn’t realise we needed to strengthen our young first team squad, they certainly do now.

Making things potentially worse for those who aren’t already enamoured with manager Steve McClaren was the fact that as he pivoted with substitutions, he actually ended up taking off three of the best four rated players on the day.

Joel Lynch came top of the pile with a rating of 7.33 as he put in two tackles and 12 clearances on a defensive front, whilst also helping himself to our goal on the day and achieving an 81% pass accuracy rating.

Matt Smith polled 7.01 having grabbed the assist with Mass Luongo (6.22) and Ebere Eze (6.09) taking the next two spots. Everyone else was below 6 for the day which is understandable given the scoreline.

Only Luongo completed the game though and with none of the substitutes outperforming those who they replaced, that just adds a further disappointment to the proceedings.

  • the running of qpr is very very bad with poor transfers done by penny pinching people who have now left the club going down sack them and we can move forward

    • We need Holloway back, we need to recall Manning and Wheeler owing to the fact we can’t sign players. The introduction of Manning at the end of 2016 turned that season around and he has never got a long run in the side. Two of our best performances last season were against Villa and and Fulham away. Manning, Wszolek and Eze started both these games and very rarely have been given the chance togather.

  • Nothing wrong with the team, the hierarchy are the problem- oh, and the daft substitutions – where was Powel when we needed him?.

  • you will not get holloway back as i will cost more then mcClaren or was dirt cheap as no one wanted him .the only lones we will get will be old men as they are cheap we will save money but go down ????

  • what is ferdinand doing on 10 grand a week plus boxing training in the afternoon at the training ground time to go been supporting for over 50 years u let manning go how many goals did scowen get last season 1 and it will be the same this season manning got more with a few games we have not scored enougth goals for the last 4 seasons cant ferdinand see that

  • i see our under 21s have our new players a 30+ center halt and more players going cheep its time to get rid of ferdinand at get someone who knows what hes doing

    • my dad always used to wind me up telling me qpr always sold there best players were fed up of getting shit players why didnt we go forrhodes on loan to norwich we know we need goals i recon well go back for cisse he must be 40 ish or ferdinand might put his boots on

  • goodnight one more day gone and our club is still in s**t street will no one do something about it ferdinand must be loving it at qpr on big wage and telling players they earn to much to play for us when will the owners wake up and bring in someone who can get players in and not keep going back to spurs for the cast offs
