Striker Crisis For QPR

Queens Park Rangers will be without several attacking options this weekend.

While this headline could have been written at any point during this season, Rangers are now struggling for bodies in their attacking line.

Rangers’ lack of potency in the front-line has been little secret, but with several now missing or doubtful, QPR are down to the bare bones.

Jay Bothroyd (groin) and DJ Campbell (hamstring) are unavailable for selection while Heidar Helguson (groin) has missed training this week.

This leaves Federico Macheda, Rob Hulse and young Troy Hewitt as the only available outlets should Helugson not be able to feature.

This comes as Taye Taiwo will not be able to feature because of his work permit not coming through in time, while man of the moment Akos Buzsaky (Achilles) faces a race against time to be fit.

Defenders Danny Gabbidon (hip)and Matt Connolly are also both doubtful with new signing Nedum Onuoha outlined to feature despite limited appearances this campaign.

With regard to the centre forward quandary, Hughes is likely to select one option up front with Shaun Wright-Phillips stepping up to play behind a solitary front-man.
