Paulo Sousa has explained why Dexter Blackstock and Wayne Routledge were missing from the 16 last night.

Both players started the stalemate against Southampton at the weekend but were both mysteriously missing from the win over Swansea City last night (Tuesday).

QPR boss Paulo Sousa explained to the BBC that while the duo were injured for the clash against the Swans their absence was purely precautionary.

He said: ‘Dexter has a hamstring injury and because it is a muscle injury we need to assess it day by day.

‘Wayne took a kick on his knee and it swelled up, so we took him for a scan but it is nothing to worry us.’

Rangers beat Swansea by a solitary Mikele Leigertwood goal to once again give hope that they would finish their season on a high.
