JOEY Barton praised his team mates in the wake of a crucial win against Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder has been resurgent in recent fixtures following stern criticism from the QPR supporters.

He heaped praise on his team mates for bouncing back from a disappointing defeat against West Bromwich Albion.

He told QPR.co.uk: ‘The spirit in the camp shone through again.

‘To bounce back from such a disappointing performance at West Brom is testament to the lads we’ve got in the dressing room.

‘We’ve been magnificent at home recently and that’s all credit to the lads. Not just the lads that played on Saturday, but all those in the camp because it takes real resolve and resilience to go and play the top sides.’

In the wake of a visit to Chelsea this weekend – a side celebrating a win over Barcelona – Barton believes that QPR have what it takes given their display against Spurs.

‘It’s testament to the lads that we’ve managed to beat another of the big, big Clubs.

‘We dug in, put in the hard yards and for the last quarter of an hour or so – when we were down to ten men – worked tirelessly to get a massive three points for this Football Club.’

The skipper was hounded from the field by sections of support prior to an immaculate comeback against Liverpool. His return to the side and to form against Arsenal has helped spark an upturn in QPR form.

Visits to Man City and the aforementioned Chelsea sandwich a home test against Stoke City – one earmarked as crucial by the fans and players alike.
