JAY Simpson hopes to ruin the occasion as Hull City prepare to face Queens Park Rangers on Monday afternoon.

Hull come into the fixture off the back of a 4-2 defeat against Middlesbrough, despite former QPR loanee Simpson scoring in the opening five minutes.

The striker has hinted his side hope to bounce back from a disappointing set-back against ‘Boro, and a result against the table topping side would be the perfect tonic.

‘Our only focus is the QPR game now,’ he told hullcityafc.net.

‘We’ve got to go to Loftus Road and concentrate on getting a result there.

‘I had a good season down there last year and it will be nice to go back. They’ll be trying to have a (promotion) party and get the win that they need, but we need a win to stay in the play-off picture.

‘Hopefully we can gatecrash any party they are planning and it would be nice to get a win there to move on after Saturday.’

The striker netted 13 times for QPR last term but has struggled to recapture that form for Nigel Pearson’s Tigers, scoring on a mere six occasions.
