New Queens Park Rangers signing Jay Simpson has revealed manager Jim Magilton as a major reason behind signing for the club.

The striker today put pen to paper on a season long loan deal from Arsenal and has spoken to QPR.co.uk revealing his decision behind rejecting others for QPR.

‘I met up with the Manager and I was very impressed by what he had to say,’ he said.

‘There’s great ambition at this Football Club and I am a very ambitious person, so we were on the same wavelength from the first minute.’

Simpson has had spells with Millwall and West Bromwich Albion and should be in line to make his debut on Saturday against Scunthorpe.

He stated his ambition to play regular first team football and believes that under Magilton he can play a part in the exciting future of Queens Park Rangers.

‘I’m here to play football and win football matches.

‘Jim understands football and the way it should be played and I’m just delighted he’s brought me in to be part of what appears to be a very exciting future here.’

The QPR number 23 rejected a host of clubs to sign for Queens Park Rangers, including some Premier League outfits, and the fans will be hoping that he can convert his ambition into goals.
