Neil Warnock has revealed his interest in Southampton winger Jason Puncheon.

Several rumours have come to the fore of late, not least the reported move for Southampton winger Jason Puncheon.

The wide-man who had a successful Premier League loan stint with Blackpool is now looking to move on from St Marys Stadium.

After an indifferent spell at Milton Keynes, Puncheon worked his way back into the Football League with Barnett and latterly Plymouth Argyle.

Puncheon has previously been linked rivals Portsmouth and Millwall and Neil Warnock is eyeing the pacy wide-man after conceding defeat in capturing Wayne Routledge.

Warnock told the Evening Standard: ‘We need a wide player, obviously (former player) Wayne Routledge looks like joining Swansea, and we’ve been looking at Jason Puncheon.

‘He’s someone who has done really well, he’s exactly the sort of player I like, he’s pacy and direct, someone with something to prove, a player with a bit of hunger. We need players like that at QPR this season.

‘He’s a player we’ve been looking at, so now we need to see what happens in the next 10 days or so.’

While Routledge looks destined for Swansea, Rangers hope to tie up Puncheon in a bid to replace the ex-R’s loanee
