Queens Park Rangers winger Lee Cook will step up his rehabilitation from injury after recovering from key-hole surgery.

Cook was operated on back in May, and the winger can now look forward to the next stage of his rehabilitation.

While the club was reluctant to announce the news that Cook was undergoing this operation, they have been quick to announce the recovery with physio Paul Hunter delighted with the progress of the self-professed QPR fan.

‘It confirmed to us that the operation was a complete success, and we have now been given permission to step up his rehabilitation,’ Hunter told QPR.co.uk

‘Lee is exactly in line with where I anticipated him to be at this stage.

‘I would also like to stress that this is a new injury, and not linked in anyway to Lee’s previous surgery.’

While reluctant to set a date for Lee`s return, Hunter was adamant that he would do everything in his power to make him a selection possibility for Jim Magilton in the near future.

He said: ‘It is always difficult to pin-point a return date following this kind of operation but, needless to say, we will be doing everything in our power to have Lee available to the Manager as quickly as possible.’

Despite reports to the contrary the official site maintains that Alejandro Faurlín, like fellow teammates Akos Buzsaky and Mikele Leigertwood, has a thigh strain, and not a tear.

The news regarding the treatment of the trio was positive as the R`s round off their pre-season tomorrow against Southampton.

‘We’re very happy with how they’re responding to treatment,’ he continued.

‘They’re now at the stage where they’re completing functional rehab on the pitch.

‘We will continue to monitor their progress closely.’
