Rangers are reportedly leading the chase to sign highly-rated Leyton Orient defender Tamika Mkandawire.

The West Bromwich Albion youth product is reportedly a target for Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock as he looks to bolster his rearguard.

According to the Ealing Gazette Os Chairman Barry Hearn has slapped a £500,000 price-tag on the Malawi-born defender’s head.

Millwall, Preston North End and Swansea City are also reportedly in for the defender – but Rangers have the edge according to this report because of the signing on fee they can offer.

Despite being born in Malawi, Mkandawire is ineligible to play for his country because they do not offer dual nationality.
