Queens Park Rangers youngster Romone Rose will start for Cheltenham Town this evening in the Gloucester Senior Cup.

Cheltenham Town face local rivals Gloucester City in the minor cup competition with QPR loanee Rose featuring at right-back.

Youngster Rose has been on loan with the Robins under the guidance of former QPR midfielder Martin Allen, who himself has been suspended by the club for allegations of racial abuse.

In what remains a keenly-fought fixture for die-hard supporters of both sides, physio Ian Weston looked forward to the game.

‘It’s a cup match and there is added interest with it being Cheltenham versus Gloucester and the first meeting between the two for a few years,’ Weston told This is Gloucestershire.

‘Having been physio here for eight years and played for the club before that, I know the match the fans always used to look forward to was the derby match against Gloucester.

‘This match will have some added spice to it and I am sure both sets of fans are looking forward to it.’

Rose has made one appearance for Cheltenham in the crushing defeat away to Accrington Stanley, he was subsequently benched in the home defeat against Macclesfield.
