Queens Park Rangers completed their second defeat in as many days as the Reserve side went down at home to Leyton Orient.

After a dominant opening period, Rangers were behind when they were penalised rather harshly for handball on the half hour mark.

Elvijs Putniņ? performed heroics in the sticks to deny Loick Pires but former Lincoln forward Adrian Patulea lashed home the rebound.

Rangers best chance to level came late on as Antonio German missed a close range header, but it was more disappointment for the hosts in a fixture they dominated.

Lee Cook completed the first half in a bid to build his fitness ahead of this weekend’s clash against Scunthorpe United with the O’s fielding the likes of Jimmy Smith and James Scowcroft in their line-up.

Reserve boss Keith Ryan said: ‘We were probably the better side throughout the match, and apart from their penalty, they never really had a shot on goal.

‘Antonio German probably should score with a header five minutes from time, but we did very well.’

QPR: Elvijs Putniņ?, Trialist, Ed Harris, Lee Brown, Gary Borrowdale, Josh Parker, Joe Oastler, Angelo Balanta, Lee Cook, Romone Rose, Antonio German.

Leyton Orient: Glenn Morris; Andrew Cave-Brown, Luke Ashworth, Matthew Briggs, Cestor Mike; JJ Melligan, Jimmy Smith, Adrian Patulea (Louis Crowther 75), Loick Pires; James Scowcroft (Harry Beautyman 80), Jonathan Téhoué (Jake Argent 70)
