Rangers Reserves went down 2-0 to league leaders Reading on Tuesday.

Young stars Scott Donnelly & Stefan Bailey both started and Matthew Hislop made a return to action after his lengthly lay-off with injury.

Goals from Jem Karacan and Simon Cox won the fixture for Reading with a young Rangers side captained by Georges Santos unlucky not to get more from the game.

Coach Joe Gallen spoke to the official website after the game saying:

‘We deserved a lot more than the 2-0 final scoreline,” said Gallen.

‘We played really well and shaded it throughout the 90 minutes in terms of territory and possession.

‘They knew they’d been in a game at full-time and given the average age of our side, I thought we excelled.

‘It was a superb team display, but Scott and Stefan in particular were terrific,” said Gallen.

‘Wads was watching from the stands and must have been very happy with what he saw.’.
