Sammy Youssouf’s first half goal was cancelled out by Reading’s Shane Long as the Rangers second XI drew 1-1 with Reading at Loftus Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Rangers fielded a strong starting line-up including Marc Bircham who passed his fitness test as well as Georges Santos, Shabazz Baidoo, Marcin Kus and Youssouf.

Reading also included some first team fringe players, Long was playing alongside John Halls, Stephen Hunt, Chris Makin and Graham Stack.

Youssouf netted a fine goal after on 15 minutes but Long hit back 61 minutes with a spectacular equaliser.

A 25-yard effort left Rangers keeper Sean Thomas with no chance.

Gary Waddock and Steve Coppell were both in attendance and would have been impressed by the level of performance shown by both sides.
