The latest set of media reports are once again linking Queens Park Rangers with a move for Gillingham forward Simeon Jackson.

That bastion of media reliability the Daily Star have put out a one-liner suggesting that Rangers are targeting the £1m-rated Gillingham forward.

Previous reports have been that the R’s have been tracking the striker who has scored 29 times for Gillingham in 72 appearances.

Indeed John Gorman was at the Gills game against Wycombe Wanderers inadvertently leading him to be linked with the then vacant post at Adams Park.

There is no question that the R’s are one of a number of clubs casting an eye over the striker at £1m it may well be worth a risk snapping up the striker, but it doesn’t mean that a bid is forthcoming.

Boss Mark Stimson previously admitted: ‘If someone actually comes up with a bid of some sorts then it could become a little bit sticky.’

Meanwhile rumours persist of the Jermaine Beckford front, with Rangers still linked with a £1.5m move for the Leeds United front-man.

Beckford is out of contract at the end of the season, but the R’s are believed to be keen to beat the crowds in January by snapping up their former trialist.
