Queens Park Rangers have reportedly swooped to sign a full-back from under the nose of Premier League Portsmouth.

Onismor Bhasera is reputedly close to completing a move to W12 which will come as great relief to the left-back who owing to a transfer dispute hasn’t played in quite some time.

His current club Kaiser Chiefs were in no doubt that he is their player for the time being as manager Bobby Motaung expects a deal to QPR to be completed in the coming days.

Motaung’s words to the Zimbabwean may suggest that a loan deal is in the offing, rather than a permanent transfer.

‘Forget about the rumours being manufactured around Bhasera, he is our player,’ he told the Zimbabwean.

‘Currently we are negotiating for a signing deal with Queens Park Rangers on a club-to-club arrangement.

‘We are convinced the deal will sail through anytime from now.’

The player insists however that he is not under contract at Kaiser Chiefs and is a free agent, with the situation seemingly anything other than clear cut.

A close friend of the player said: ‘Onismor was badly affected financially, and we all hope everything goes well for him.

‘The ownership wrangle between Kaizer Chiefs and then Portsmouth had impacted negatively on the player.

‘Presently Bhasera is training with Queens Park Rangers, and he strongly believe he would have achieved something positive when the June signing window closes.’

The Zimbabwean international has been caught in a wrangle between Kaizer Chiefs and Portsmouth, but the manager now suggests that a deal is in place to see him sign for QPR.
