Report: QPR respond to multi-million pound offer from Champions League club for 22-y/o talent

|

Queens Park Rangers have turned down a £3m offer from Club Brugge for winger Bright Osayi-Samuel.

The 22-year-old has been a real success story for the R’s this season, forcing his way into Mark Warburton’s plans and playing 29 games in the Championship. In that time, he has weighed in with five goals and eight assists, whilst his all-round game and ability on the ball has impressed.

Therefore, the club were quick to activate a one-year option in his contract earlier this year that extends his deal until 2021 and talks continue about tying him down on a long-term basis. However, they could face a battle to do just that as Sky Sports have revealed how the Belgian champions have made a move for the player, by offering £3m.

Will Bright Osayi-Samuel be a QPR player next season?

Yes

No

They state that the bid was turned down and it’s unclear whether Club Brugge will return with an improved over in the coming weeks or months but it reveals they hope the lure of Champions League football will entice Osayi-Samuel from London.

There is interest in the wide man from England as well though, as the report confirms that West Ham and Norwich City are also monitoring the player. Plus, West Brom were believed to have had an offer for Osayi-Samuel rejected in the January window.

The former Blackpool man is one of a number of players at QPR that have attracted attention from elsewhere, with Tottenham keeping tabs on teammate Eberechi Eze, who could command a £20m transfer fee.
