Report: QPR facing major decision as Premier League team looks set to chase 22-year-old prospect

|

Whilst it might be a different player, I think that the attitude needs to be the same.

With QPR’s recent run of scoring goals for fun, and then beating a team fighting for promotion, it’s no surprise that clubs are starting to take notice of our players. And given his contract situation as well, that will only add fuel to the fire.

According to a report from Football Insider, Southampton are the latest team to start snooping around West London, as they have their eyes set on Bright Osayi-Samuel. The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and although the report states that QPR are trying to tie him down to a new deal, with less than ten days to go in the transfer window, it could be make or break when it comes to his future.

As I hinted at earlier, this is a similar road that the club went down when it came to Eberechi Eze and his approaches from Premier League teams.

I spoke during the height of those rumours that I felt the club needed to sell Eze in order to properly invest in the rest of the squad, and I feel that the club might be best served to do the same when it comes to Osayi-Samuel, and dare I say it, maybe even both of them at the same time.

If the club were to sell both in this window, then the amount of money that would generate for not only for January, but also in the summer could really give QPR a great stage to start building a challenge for promotion next season.

This is the kind of risks that you take when you allow someone’s contract to run down this low, and if you aren’t going to make any progress in the next few days, then there’s a big risk he leaves for nothing in the summer.

Should we sell BOS for the right price?

Yes

No

So take away the uncertainty, and let’s just move on. As I said before, I’ll say again, this really should be a case of addition by subtraction when it comes to these two players.
