Report: QPR close to securing deal for £1.8million-rated international

|

QPR have seen a transfer offer to sign Wigan Athletic striker Kieffer Moore accepted, a report from The Daily Mail has claimed.

Moore only joined Wigan from Barnsley back in the summer transfer window, and has gone onto score nine goals and provide four assists in 35 league appearances for the Latics this season.

But with the Latics now in administration, it seems as though the club will have to sell several high profile players in order to raise some much-needed funds, something QPR could be able to take advantage of.

According to the latest reports, Rangers have seen a bid of £2.1million accepted by Wigan for Moore, who has scored twice in five appearances for Wales since being handed his senior international debut last September.

Would Kieffer Moore be a good signing for QPR?

Yes

No

Moore, who is valued at £1.8million (by Transfermarkt) still has two years remaining on his contract at The DW Stadium, which would otherwise have secured his future at Wigan until the end of the 2021/22 season.

It seems therefore, as though this could be a useful bit of business from QPR.

With speculation continuing around the future of some of Rangers’ own key players’, bringing in a fresh attacking outlet such as Moore, who has shown he can make a useful contribution in the Championship this season, would help to offset those losses somewhat.

But with Middlesbrough and Cardiff also reportedly interested in Moore, QPR may need to secure this move quickly here, in order to avoid being beaten in this transfer race, since Wigan do not really look like a club who can afford to wait all that long for funds to come in.
