Queens Park Rangers have reportedly tied up a deal to sign Irish international Steven Reid on an emergency loan.

The midfielder, whose career has been blighted by injury since joining Blackburn Rovers from Millwall, reportedly finalised the deal today ahead of an official announcement in due course.

With Gavin Mahon and Martin Rowlands sidelined with long-term injuries, and Mikele Leigertwood primarily deployed at full-back Rangers are looking to refresh their options in the engine room.

While being left out in the cold in terms of international duty, Sam Allardyce still has high hopes for Reid, and a loan move to W12 will give him vital match practice going into the new year.
