Coventry City are eyeing former QPR and Crystal Palace boss Paul Hart to take the reins at the Ricoh Arena.

The Sky Blues are without a manager since dispatching of Chris Coleman after a poor end to the 2009/10 campaign – culminating in a 4-0 home defeat to Watford.

It appears however that Ray Ranson can’t get enough of that negative vibe as he eyes Paul Hart to take the hot-seat, in what would be his fourth management job since November.

After a disappointing start with Portsmouth he came to Rangers following the departure of Magilton, and never truly won the supporters over after a string of needlessly negative tactics.

His initial vow to keep Rangers in the Championship came to fruition when his dismal Crystal Palace side was trampled by the R’s at Selhurst Park.

In fairness to his Selhurst Park charges they had an off day on that occasion and managed to scrape enough points to keep themselves at this level and henceforth boost Hart’s stock.

With Palace’s immediate future still in the air and administrator Brendan Guilfoyle still somehow seeking a buyer after months of negotiations, Hart may be looking elsewhere in the short-term.

Coventry’s interest is somewhat a surprise as Hart has built a reputation as a fire-fighter, a relegation battler, and so hardly the man you’d seek to take you to the next level.
