Steve McClaren had big boots to fill given the general feeling amongst Queens Park Rangers fans when it came to Ian Holloway, and it’s not unfair to say that with four straight defeats in the Championship, things couldn’t have really gone any worse for the former England man.
Shrewd loan deals over the summer as the transfer window came to a close saw Geoff Cameron, Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells arrive and we also added Toni Leistner and Angel Rangel, and with the loanees coming in they helped the squad click and Leistner for sure grew in stature with experience around him as he continued settling in himself.
Rangel’s addition needs little commentary given how quickly he’s won the fans over.
They’ve all contributed to seeing us rise to tenth place in the table with eight wins from 17 as we go into the November international break.
The return of Amit Bhatia shouldn’t be underestimated either.
In any event, with another positive result last weekend as we took bragging rights over Brentford, fans aren’t quite swooning about McClaren, but it’s close enough.
If Steve McClaren can do the unthinkable this season and win at the City Ground & a FA Cup match, then the bloke deserves a statue #qpr

Steve McClaren has replied to his critics in the only acceptable way in football ie with points on the board. Let's hope it continues for years to come!

After a truly-horrendous start; we're now in the Steve McClaren "Honeymoon" Period at @QPR. Long may it last. ????(Although of course history with managers at #QPR & elsewhere; and of #SteveMcClaren in partic. One minute the Manager's up and has the Owners and Fans love. Next…)

@Amit_Bhatia99 deserves some praise for acting quickly in the loan market. McClaren is earning his keep too. Very grateful for Cameron, Wells, Hemed, and well…everyone else. #QPR for life. ????⚽️????
