Queens Park Rangers are still looking to land Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton despite interest from other clubs.

Heaton left the club last week after his short-term loan with the club expired, but departed on good terms indicating that a long-term deal could be on the cards.

He tied up a deal to join Rochdale on an emergency loan to tie him over until January, when he will be seeking a permanent move away from Old Trafford.

QPR was his most likely destination but goalkeeping coach Tony Coton revealed to Sky Sports that there are several interested parties.

Tom’s contract is up in the summer and he will be leaving Manchester United,’ Coton told skysports.com.

‘Tom is ready to move on as he wants to be playing regularly at this stage of his career,’ he said.

‘Ideally he would like to move on in January rather than waiting until the summer as he just wants to be playing.

There are about half a dozen clubs interested in him and I am sure United would agree to letting him leave for a small fee if someone came in for him.’

It was reported by the London Informer on Wednesday that Heaton would command a £300,000 deal, and Rangers are confident of getting the deal done come January.

This latest set of comments by United indicate that several parties would like to capture the young keeper, and should a bidding war commence Rangers could be forced to cough up more.
