Rangers Reportedly Track Soon To Be Out Of Contract QPR Player

|

It’s been claimed this week that Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers are circling Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Seny Dieng this summer.

When the club announced their retained and released list following the end of the 2018/19 Championship campaign, the club informed fans that we had offered 24-year-old Dieng a new deal but so far that has remained on the table unsigned.

A report from Football Insider has now suggested that Dieng caught Steven Gerrard’s eye during his loan spell north of the border with Dundee in the second half of the campaign.

He made 18 appearances for the side, having made 16 appearances in the opening half of the year out with Stevenage.

With his contract expiring this summer, he would be available as a free agent and they also namecheck Shrewsbury Town, Vitesse Arnhem, Strasbourg and Minnesota United as apparently preparing potential moves for him.

The only bit of semi-concrete information in the report is the claim that a source has indicated Rangers’ interest and informed them our offer remains unsigned, but the latter claim is patently obvious given we know we’ve offered a new deal and there has been no announcement that he’s accepted it.
