Sections of the media are this morning reporting that Queens Park Rangers are closing in on a Championship striker.

The Daily Mail are reporting this morning that Rangers have made a move for Reading forward Leroy Lita in a bid worth £1.3m.

The Royals are quite prepared to let the forward go, but he himself is not so keen to leave having turned down Sheffield United last week.

The striker who has scored eight goals in 23 appearances this season has enjoyed a spell at Norwich, where under the guidance of former boss Glenn Roeder he bagged seven of those goals including a hatrick against run-away leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The forward has found himself out of favour with Royals boss Steve Coppell and was pushed further down the pecking order in the summer with the signing of Noel Hunt.
