Gary Borrowdale and Peter Ramage appeared for the reserves as they defeated Gillingham at Harlington.

Rangers opted for a 4-3-3 formation with Ramage lining up in a familiar defensive role while Gary Borrowdale was interestingly deployed as one of three central midfielders.

A goal against the run of the play by the Gills` Ben Godfrey handed the visitors the lead at the R`s training complex but two of the R`s three pronged attacked put the Kent outfit to the sword.

Surprise starter Angelo Balanta played the full 90 minutes for the R`s and equalised with 15 minutes remaining after placing home with confidence from close range. Another of the forwards, Antonio German was replaced with Cyrus Sylvan-Vanterpool on in his stead.

It was he who set up the R`s late winner, laying in Josh Parker for a coolly placed finish again from close range. A young reserve side evidently buoyed by their performance in the Viareggio Cup earlier this month took the victory at Harlington this afternoon with the help of the invisible men in Borrowdale and Routledge.
