Matteo Alberti today agreed a contract with Queens Park Rangers despite having several other options available to him.

The young Chievo Verona winger will put pen to paper on a four-year contract on the 1st July. Despite not actually making a first team appearance for the club positioned well in Serie B, Alberti had attracted the attention of several prominent Serie A clubs.

The player, who was spotted alongside Gianni Paladini at the Player of the Year dinner, moves to Loftus Road in move which paved the way for a friendly between his new club and his current club in W12 on Saturday 2nd August.

The highly rated Italian may not have to wait long for a first team opportunity providing new Rangers coach Iain Dowie deems the youngster is worthy enough.
