Following the release of Shabazz Baidoo to Dagenham and Redbridge, two further home-grown talents have departed Loftus Road.

Defender Pat Kanyuka and Forward Keiron St. Aimee, have failed to evade the axe that has fallen on a few names already this season; and making it 1 in and 3 out for the day.

Democratic Republic of Congo defender Pat Kanyuka, impressed with some good performances at right back during John Gregory`s tenure, but has struggled with injury problems in recent years that has served to cut his time short in the Rangers squad. He made 15 appearances for the R`s in all competitions setting up that bizarre Ray Jones goal away at Southampton, as he came on as substitute for the injured Matthew Rose.

Joe Gallen once commented on the youngster in early 2005:

“Pat is someone with a lot of potential and I am pleased we are able to keep him”

“We want to bring the best young players through here at Loftus Road and in the past he is someone we may well have lost”

“I think it shows the progress we are making here”

Keiron St. Aimee who impressed with a tremendous goal pre-season in the defeat at home to Celtic, only made one senior competitive appearance from the club, in the humbling defeat by Leyton Orient in the Carling Cup. He was sent out on loan to Oxford United who sent him back with manager Darren Patterson commenting:

‘Kieron hasn’t quite done enough during the matches,’

‘He’s looked quick and lively in training, but had been out of the game for a while before he came here and maybe didn’t quite have that match sharpness.”

He Added:

‘We need someone for now, someone who will have an impact, and so we had a word after the game on Saturday and we decided that it’s best for all concerned if Kieron goes back to QPR and tries to make an impression with their new manager.”

‘He’s a nice lad and it’s a shame it didn’t work out for him.’

Vital Football QPR would like to wish the players the very best of luck in their future careers.
